Biography: Ren Ruiping is a female Chinese triple jumper who was born on the 1st of February, 1976 in the Shandong province of China. She represented her country in many international competitions and won many gold medals to bring honour to her country. She is the holder of the Asian record in triple jump and she broke the World Junior record three times.
Ren Ruiping started her triple jump career by taking part in local competitions before she made her mark in the international arena. She participated in her first international competition at the 1994 World Junior Championships held in Lisbon, Portugal. She bagged a silver medal and she became one of the world’s most promising talents at triple jump. In the 1995 World Indoor Championships held in Barcelona, Spain, Ren finished in 3rd place and took home the bronze medal. The same year, she also took part in the World Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden. She placed 6th in this competition. She participated in the Olympics for the first time at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, but she failed to win a medal. She only managed to take 6th place. In the year 1997, Ren won her first gold medal in an international competition. She participated in the East Asian Games in Busan, South Korea, and placed 1st. In the following year, she had another gold medal performance at the Bangkok Asian Games. Her next gold medal came from the 2001 East Asian Games held in Osaka, Japan.
Ren Ruiping has a personal best of 14.66m for the triple jump and her best result for the long jump is 6.51m.
